Transformed by treachery into a being of living metal, Drogen Lar found riches and glory in the gladiatorial pits on the planet Malva. Seeking a world where he could fight with honor, he crash-landed on Earth, becoming the hero Ironclad, a member of The Champions.

Ironclad has embraced his new home and companions, but his great strength and resilience give him an overinflated sense of confidence. He doesn't think anything can really hurt him, and that belief sometimes causes him to be reckless.
